Ōrākei Neighbourhood Plan
Our neighbourhood plan for Ōrākei sets out how we will work alongside existing customers, our partner Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, stakeholders and the community, to renew and replace our aged stock in the suburb, over the next 7 to 10 years.
Development of the neighbourhood plan
We have worked with iwi partner Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and a range of local stakeholders on the development of the neighbourhood plan. A local advisory group was also established in 2021 and includes representatives from the Local Board, local schools, Ministry of Education and Ōrākei Community Association. The advisory group has provided advice and further opportunities for community input into the development of the plan and to ensure it also included wider benefits for the people of Ōrākei.
Engagement
Over the past three years we have engaged with our customers, neighbours, and local stakeholders to inform the development of this long-term renewal plan for Ōrākei. We also provided opportunities for our stakeholders to view our new developments completed in Grace Street and Sudeley Street in 2022. In March 2024, we are hosting information sessions to share the neighbourhood plan.
