The site is now officially on the market, with Bayleys(external link) commencing its sales campaign this week.

Portions of the 95-hectare site will go to NZTA for the SH29 upgrade and to the Ministry of Education for a new primary school, bringing community-wide benefits.

The remaining 84.6 hectares is for sale, via tender, offering a unique opportunity for new housing development.

Over the past few years Kāinga Ora has prepared the land for rapid development by securing zoning, consents, and roading upgrades. This means the successful buyer will be able to quickly deliver new housing as the site is development ready.

Acting General Manager Urban Development and Delivery, Nick Howcroft, says the sale of Ferncliffe Farm supports the wider development of Tauriko West.

“Through selling this land we’re enabling essential transport and education infrastructure for the growing community and unlocking opportunities for the rapid development of new housing,” he says.

Proceeds from the sale of the property will be reinvested into delivering new and improved housing.
