MyKāingaOra
With our tenant app, MyKāingaOra, you can easily check your account, rent balance, log maintenance requests and so much more from your mobile or laptop, anytime without having to call us.
Register online
Current tenants can sign up for MyKāingaOra, all you need is your customer reference number, and to have your email address or mobile number registered with us.

What can you do
Once you have registered for MyKāingaOra, you will have access to a variety of helpful functions.
Rent information
- See your rent account balance and history
- View your current rent balance and next review date
- Create an arrangement for rent or maintenance debt
Maintenance
- Create and view general (non-urgent) maintenance jobs
- Add a photo to a maintenance job request
Personal information
- Add/edit bank account details
- Check and update your Profile information (e.g. mobile number, email address)
- View and download some of your letters online
- Add/delete your consented parties
Other information
- See who your Housing Support Manager is and all upcoming appointments (like annual inspections)
- Access Wellbeing services, like Healthline (1737), Police 105 service
- Find information about keeping healthy in your home, and tips to fix small issues.
Different languages
MyKāingaOra is also in six different languages:
- Te Reo Maori
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Samoan
- Tongan
- Hindi
To change to a different language, click the 'Languages' dropdown in the top right-hand corner of your home screen, and select your choice.
Save MyKāingaOra to your device home screen
You might find it easier to access MyKāingaOra from the home screen of your phone or other device, instead of typing the web address into an internet browser all the time.
If you use an Apple device, you'll only be able to save websites to your home screen using the Safari browser.
- Open Safari and go to https://my.kaingaora.govt.nz/(external link)
- Tap the 'Share' button on the browser's toolbar - that's the rectangle with an arrow pointing upward.
- on an iPad, it's on the bar at the top of the screen
- on an iPhone or iPod Touch, it's on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the 'Add to Home Screen' icon.
- The name is automatically there but you can change it.
- Tap 'Add'.
Safari will add it to your home screen as an icon. You'll be able to drag it around and put it wherever you like.
If you use an Android device, there are several popular browsers that will let you save websites to your home screen. The two most common are:
Google Chrome:
- Open Google Chrome and go to https://my.kaingaora.govt.nz/(external link)
- Tap the menu button.
- Tap 'Add to Home screen'
- Enter a name for the website.
- Tap 'Add'.
Google Chrome will add it to your home screen as an icon. You'll be able to drag it around and put it wherever you like.
Firefox:
- Open Firefox and go to https://my.kaingaora.govt.nz/(external link)
- Tap the menu button.
- Tap the 'More' button
- Tap 'Add to Home Screen'.
- Enter a name for the website.
- Tap 'Add'
